Price: £14,000 | Country: UK | Contact:

MG VA Registered less than a week after the start of World War Two (in September 1939), by 1960 this MG was in the hands of an RAF officer in Bedfordshire, according to the buff continuation logbook. It has been owned by its last registered keeper for around 50 years. The MG was restored between 1992 and 1995.

More recent work has included new wheels and tyres plus remanufactured front door cards. The water pump has also been replaced. The MG starts first time on the button and selects gears nicely. The sweet 1500 engine runs really well with good oil pressure and even stops well.

Approaching 84 years of age this super stylish pre-war gem is solid, complete and running nicely. Full of patena, exactly as a pre-war car should be.

The odometer shows 91,807 miles; the last MoT expired in September 2013 after having been tested at an indicated 91,549 miles. However, as an historic vehicle, the MG is now MoT-exempt. Paperwork with the car includes the V5C, buff continuation logbook, some details and photographs of the restoration work, old tax discs, old parts catalogue and sundry other paperwork.

Use it as it is or a fabulous basis for a nut and bolt restoration.

SOLD – 1937 MG SA Tickford Coupe

Price: $20,000 USD (or best offer) | Country: Canada | Contact:

Rare 1937 SA Tickford Coupe (only 696 built between 1936- 1939!). in original condition looking for an MG enthusiast for a complete restoration. Has most of its original parts which can be viewed in available photos upon request. The original engine was replaced in 1941/ 1942 at the MG factory.

After the second World War this special car crossed ‘the pond’ to Canada with an experienced MG mechanic to start a new adventure. While he was prepared to depart from the UK, certainly not without his prized MG!! It remained in his personal possession until his death in the 1950s.

Subsequently, my father purchased the car from his Estate and stored it for the next 70 years in a dry barn. While it was always his intention to restore back to its original splendor during his retirement sadly it never happened.

It is now available again.

Asking $20,000 USD (or best offer).

Contact Trevor Townsend at if you would like more photos and/or I can be reached in Canada at 416-524-1241 (EST – Eastern Standard Time).

WANTED – VA Saloon

Preference is the MG VA Saloon, but other models would happily be considered.
I’d prefer the car to be in good, very good or excellent condition, so that I have a relatively easy introduction to the world of classic cars and have time to learn as I go along.
I’m from the East Midlands, but happy to travel within the UK for the right car.
